About Mat-Ching are we?

Mat-Ching Travel Bags and Accessories is owned and operated as a sole proprietership in Bedford, Texas.  We design, manufacture and sell original, hand-crafted fabric travel bags for individuals who have a discerning eye for coordinated colors and designs. Our products are designed to provide stylish, attractive, practical and durable carriers for your travel items, with each item fitting into a coordinated collection in our evolving design themes.

 

Our designer, has years of experience in design and sales of fabric and fabric products.  She personally selects the feature fabric and linings and ensures that patterns are carefully cut to fit together, and perfectly coordinated within each collection. Fit, form and function - that's the way we do it!

Each Mat-Ching collection consists of several feature pieces including: vinyl-lined cosmetics bags, jewelry pouchs, hot iron holders, large totes, and garment bags. For example:

Company History
Mat Ching Travel Bags was established in 2006.  The idea for the company came about as the result the owners' personal experiences in auto travel around the state of Texas.  All too often we would arrive at the hotel and find ourselves carting our clothes into the lobby on coat hangers, or covered with cheap plastic garment bags.  From this came the first garment bag, made from sturdy and attractive upholstery fabric that was left over from a prior business endeavor. Next came a matching tote, then a matching toiletries bag and a matching jewelry pouch made from some of the same and other coordinated fabrics. The first sample collection sold quickly, and at a good price, at a charity auction in Lubbock... and Mat-Ching was born.
 
After forming the company, our first foray into the general market was via direct sales at trade and gift shows in Texas and Oklahoma.  The success of those efforts led us to our current marketing approach of a small number of exclusive partnerships with gift shops and resellers.

It is our goal at Mat-Ching to ensure that our customers and business partners enjoy a personalized business relationship with us. As a result, we offer exclusive partnerships with a small number of gift shops and/or resellers in local or focused regional markets.   In this way, we are able to give each of our business partners the sort of personal service that they deserve.   It is our intent to limit our network in each geographic market area in order to enable exclusive and limited distribution of our product line.
